Instructional video: Barking on the box
This instruction video explains step by step how Dick Staal teaches the KNPV exercise barking on the box.
This is an exercise in which the dog has to find a crate in, for example, a forest area and bark at it until his boss comes to him. Teaching this exercise can also be used as a basis for other purposes, for example to teach a dog to search for larger objects during practical training. In this video you see the build-up of the training with a puppy, but this method can also be used for older dogs.
This method leads to the dog eventually looking for a box and barking with great motivation, without biting into it. Teaching takes place in a positive way so the dog learns quickly.
