This instructional video on tracking will show you step by step how Dick Staal trains his dogs to track at a slow and steady pace. By training this way, the angles on the track are taken very accurately.

This method can be used as basic training for IGP tracking but also if for any other reason you want to teach your dog to track in this way. This method does not use food on the track, so the puppy or adult dog focuses directly on the human scent trail of the track from the beginning.

Because of the build-up of training, this method normally leads to the dog not missing any objects on the track and always correctly indicate or retrieving them.

This method is suitable for both puppies and adult dogs.
